Ankles, Feet, Toes

Ankles

The vast majority of ankle injuries are worth significantly less than £10,000.  However, compensation for this injury varies greatly. "Very Severe" injuries ( £29,000 - £40,750) are where there is "soft-tissue damage resulting in deformity that might lead to amputation".  "Moderate" injuries (£7,625 - £15,500) include cases which result in "difficulty walking on uneven ground".  "Modest" injuries (up to £7,500) are where a complete recovery is likely.

Achilles Tendon

Compensation for this injury varies from "Most Serious" ( up to £22,900) where the tendom is "severedt" hrough to "Minor" injuries (£4,000 - £5,500) are where there is a feeling of "being unsure of ankle support".

Feet

The value of this award depends on whether both feet are lost (£98,500 - £117,000) or just one foot (£48,850 - £63,625).  Then there is a range of awards from "Very Severe" (£48,850 - £63,625) where the injury must result in "permanent and severe" pain through to "Modest" (up to £8,150) for a simple "metatarsal fracture".  Perhaps David Beckham claimed when someone stood on his foot?

Toes

The value of this award depends on whether all toes lost (£21,350 - £32,800) or just the big toe (up to £18,325).  Then there is a range of awards from "Very Severe" (£7,500 - £10,500) where the injury may have been caused by "severe crushing, but not necessarily require amputation, through to "Moderate" (up to £5,600) for a simple "fracture".

How much?

The total amount awarded to you as a result of a successful Personal Injury claim is based on many factors including the nature and severity of the injury and any consequential damages (e.g. loss of income).  The amount awarded in compensation for a specific injury (excluding any consequential damages) is based on a set of national guidelines.

Remember - the figures shown are only for the injury itself and exclude consequential damages. The total you receive may be considerably more.
